Women played pro baseball in the 1800s, then during World War II. This month, 60 persisters who refused to switch to softball did it again. Meet one of them.
My granddaughter played on Paloma’s DCGirls Baseball team and convinced her high school, DC International to establish a coed team. She was the only girl and the captain. Unfortunately, she hasn’t been able to continue in college, but we are all so excited about Paloma’s success. Thanks for doing this story!

What a wonderful story! Although the season is obviously truncated this year, I may have to go visit friends in Springfield next summer.
